We’ve gone trade fair mad this week but you can’t complain when part of your working week is heading to Toy Fair. It didn’t disappoint! Laura BB and Ella BB headed off to Kensington Olympia in London to check out what’s going on in the land of toys. We saw lots some great Dr Who kit (keep your eyes peeled on our site for these), App powered toys, animated Morphs and much much more. 2012 is going to be an exciting year for toys!

This week we also received the news that one of our new BB designed lines has been named a finalist for Gift of the Year 2012. This fab item is going to be unveiled at Spring Fair in a couple of weeks so we’ll send you all the details of this great gift then. In other news we are all very busy preparing for our stand at Spring Fair in a couple of weeks. It’s our biggest stand ever and we’ll be unveiling our fab new 2012 ranges there. Come and see us in Hall 3, Stand J31.

Another fantastic week in land BB.We’ve had lots of fantastic attention in magazines and television over the last week. Check out the blog posts below for a more in depth look at us on BBC2’s Something for the Weekend, T3 and Toy News. Also this week BB has been making headlines in Gift Focus with our design team appointment of Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Max McMurdo.

This week also sees the return of Ian BB who has been scouting out great finds in CES, Las Vegas. iBallz, one of this week’s best sellers, has gone down a storm over at CES with both the original version, the Minis version coming out in the Spring and the brand new hard cases and sleeves. Engadget and MSNBC were just some of the titles who were captivated by these shock-absorbing iBallz. Check out the new range of cases on our site.

On Thursday winter well and truly arrived. The constant drizzle was seriously depressing, that is unless you were part of the forward thinking BB team who saw the weather forecast and declared Thursday as ‘Slippers and Thermal Socks Day’. We took a snap of our toasty feet to keep you amused.

All that is left to say is that we hope you’ve had a great week and do enjoy the weekend!

It’s been a big weekend for BB – we’ve returned to work on “blue Monday” feeling anything but blue. On Sunday morning our fantastically retro Bigtrak range was reviewed on BBC2’s Something for the Weekend. Tim Lovejoy and our very own Gadget Girl Ella Williamson reviewed the new accessories for the Bigtrak collection – the Rocket Launcher and the Can Holder. Lovejoy and Williamson showcased the rocket firing around the studio and delivering a can with the can holder.

One of our favourite tech magazines, T3, featured our Dash II RC Boat in this month’s issue (image below). The boat appears within a double paged spread of ‘Stuff’. We’ve had great fun testing out the product to the max – all in the name of work you understand!

Toy News’ bumper trade fair issue landed on our doorstep this weekend. We are delighted to be smattered all over the trade mag. Our new designer and Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Max McMurdo’s appointment is featured along with Ella Williamson’s, our Product and Marketing Specialist, top tips for surviving the trade fair season. We’re also pleased to announce that Ella has been selected by the magazine’s top panel as one of the toy industry’s Top 30 under 30. Ella comments “I’m chuffed to bits at this fantastic recognition. I’m very proud and as my mum said – ‘lucky really as you’ll be 30 this November’. Thanks Mum”.

So it’s Friday 13th and apart from being extra cautious not to walk under ladders we’re feeling pretty chipper. We’ve had a really exciting week. BB is at CES in Las Vegas keeping an eye out for all things high-tech and cutting edge. He’s sent us a pic (above) to whet out appetite for his findings. Even the sign is larger than life – we’re excited!

We’ve been going all showbiz this week and taken our beloved Bigtrak range to the BBC2 Something for the Weekend Studios for a bit of filming. Ella BB did some filming with the robotic critters. Keep an eye out for all of them on Sunday morning’s programme and see who we’ll be firing at with the Bigtrak Rocket Launcher.

We spent the afternoon with our friends at Toy News on Wednesday. We all had great fun looking at the toys in our showroom and tune into next week’s blog as we have some exciting news to reveal from the new issue of Toy News.

Happy New Year one and all. We hope you had a fantastic festive period and, like us, you’re ready to give mince pies a wide berth for another 12 months. Turns out you can have too much of a good thing after all!! Herein lies a brand new year and we are pretty darn excited about it.

The products that we have been lovingly designing in 2011 are nearly ready for unveiling at the 2012 Spring Fair International next month. We think you’ll be impressed with our hard work and swinging by the stand you will be met with healthy doses of innovative tech, quirky lifestyle products, fun novelty lines, toys and gifts aplenty. Next week we’re heading off to Las Vegas to visit CES. We like to keep our finger on the pulse and we’re looking forward to seeing the head honchos of hi-tech doing what they do best the other side of the pond. Of course – we’ll keep you posted.
